Update (12:03 p.m.): Highway 1 has now fully reopened following a two-vehicle crash one kilometer west of Salmon Arm.
A two-vehicle collision has closed Highway 1 in both directions near Salmon Arm Saturday morning.
The crash happened near Salmon River Bridge on Highway 1, about one kilometre west of Salmon Arm.
BC Ambulance said two ground ambulances and one air ambulance was called to the scene. Two patients, one in critical condition, are currently being treated, but have not yet left the scene of the collision.

DriveBC said there is not yet an estimated time for the road to reopen.
Drivers do have a detour available to them on Highway 97 and Highway 97A.
