Women looking to amp up their business skills can now apply for a national course.
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs’ (FWE) educational program will be held April 6 to 8 at The Vancouver Club.
The E-Series has a goal of helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
“Women entrepreneurs who attend E-Series have seen an average annualized revenue growth of over 40 per cent in their business and over 90 per cent of all participating companies are still in business – well above the national average of 50 per cent after five years,” according to a release on the program.
In 2015, women from 26 communities across five provinces participated in the course. This year, their goal is to have entrepreneurs from each province and territory.
For the third year in a row, grants will be available for those interested. They will help cover tuition, travel and accommodation, along with a year-long mentorship.
According to organizers, the course has been referred to as a “mini MBA”.
E-Series has been attended by business women including Cybele Negris, Co-Founder and President of Webnames.ca, Lara Kozan, Co-Founder of YYoga, and Lori Joyce and Heather White, Founders of Cupcakes.
Applicants from all over the country, and of all business sizes, are encouraged to apply.
Participants will be placed into a class according to their business’ size and stage so that all information provided is relevant to them.
“E-Series gives women the opportunity to work on their business instead of in it; the education we provide changes the framework for how they think about their business, how it can grow and how they can achieve their goals,” said Lisa Niemetscheck, General Manager of FWE, in a statement. “The education is comprehensive, and the format invites all participants to engage with the speaker and the other participants.
“We encourage all women from across Canada– from start-ups to million dollar businesses – to apply for this game-changing program.”
The application deadline is Monday, February 15. For more information, you can visit the course website.
The course is $2,000 plus taxes, and includes three full days, with meals, and one-on-one mentorship for over a year after. Grants of up to $2,500 will be available.
Topics include business culture, marketing, finance, sales, pitching for investment, and more.
