Turtle Island Festival will close Leon Avenue tomorrow

The Turtle Island Festival in celebration of National Aboriginal Day will shut down Leon Street for much of Thursday.

To accommodate the event, Leon Avenue from Pandosy Street to Ellis Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The intersections will not be affected.

There will be a minor re-routing of transit route #97 Okanagan off of Leon Avenue for the duration of event’s road closure. To watch for alerts and find more information, click here.

The City of Kelowna reminds residents that they can reduce traffic and parking congestion by choosing various modes of Active Transportation, such as biking, walking and carpooling.
