Local Spotlight
This week we spotlight local group, Yard Sale. Doing their part to keep Pop Punk thriving, Yard Sale features fuzz ridden guitar, hard-hitting drums, and gasoline soaked vocals all the while still being melodic.
Influenced by groups like The Story So Far and Trophy Eyes, it isn’t hard to picture this group conquering the Warped Tour stage (if the was ever a reboot). Their live shows are energetic, exciting and infectious, prompting all who hear to revert back to their former angsty-teenage selves and thrash away their problems.

Recommendation
Everything All the Time by Band of Horses
Genre: Alternative
This has been one of my favourite albums this year, even though it is 12 years old. The easy-going nature of practically all the songs make it ideal to listen to when you just need to unwind. The lyricism can weigh heavy on the heart but the dreamy musicality works to keep emotions in check.
My top 3 from the album: “I Go to the Barn Because I Like The,” “Our Swords,” and “The Funeral.”
It’s been a busy week for music buffs, if there was something exciting you know about but wasn't mentioned, let me know! Send an email with all your music ideas to savannah@kelownanow.com
