If you’re ever in Gander, Newfoundland, don’t forget to throw the barbeque cover back on when your finished cooking.

You just never know when a winter storm may arrive.

The small Atlantic town woke up today, five days into summer on June 26, to a fresh blanket of snow actually sticking to the ground.

It's nothing new for residents, just last month Gander was busy digging out of a blizzard that dropped 30cm of snow on the city but come on! It’s basically July now!

According to Environment Canada meteorologist Rodney Barney, the airport had accumulated 2 cm of snow by 9:30 am, marking a new record for latest accumulated snow on the ground to ever happen.

Planes have been grounded at Gander's YQX Airport, leaving travelers worried they have flown back in time to January. 

Hopefully, the snow melts in time for student's first day of summer break, which is this Saturday. 

Better keep those snow tires on, just in case!
