Picture yourself sipping on a glass of wine, taking in breathtaking views of Okanagan Lake, surrounded by your favourite people. Sounds pretty great right? How about if there was delicious food prepared by a professional chef involved? Have we got your attention?
Now open, Home Block is the new restaurant up at CedarCreek Estate Winery. With their highly trained staff and unique decor, Home Block is a local year-round winery restaurant that you’ve just got to check out.
Why new buildings?
At CedarCreek, there used to be a small, outdoor pavilion restaurant that provided customers with scrumptious food while being in the great outdoors. But an outdoor restaurant can only be open during the summer months.
To bring amazing dishes to everyone year-round, Home Block restaurant has been built. It has indoor and outdoor spaces, plus a private dining room that can be reserved for small groups.

“These new, contemporary farmhouse buildings express what CedarCreek is all about, honesty and straightforward simplicity,” explained Catherine Douglas, Marketing Manager at CedarCreek Estate Winery. “The elemental materials, such as the fieldstone and reclaimed barn wood, allow the architecture to perfectly meet nature.”
Don’t forget the food
To lead the Home Block team, CedarCreek has brought on Executive Chef Neil Taylor. Originally from England, Neil has worked in top restaurants in London, Sydney, Vancouver and now he’s excited to be in the Okanagan.

Neil focuses on creating simple dishes with bold Italian and Spanish flavours. He believes in creating food that is meant to be eaten and loved — not hidden behind tons of garnish or an elaborate composition.
This mindset allows him to focus on creating a beautiful plate of food in all its glory while pairing the dishes deliciously with the fresh, aromatic wines from CedarCreek.

Nature at its finest
The lights have been made out of concrete and wire mesh to complement the rest of the nature-infused interior.
New, farmhouse-style buildings with a beautiful fieldstone exterior and 100-year-old barn wood gives the entire space a rustic feeling. To keep things local, the barn wood is sourced from the lower mainland of B.C.

Even the serving platters, chairs and wooden table tops were created with the utmost care from local businesses. Shelly Bauer of Blue Apple Studio created the serving platters, while a Summerland craftsman, John Rousseau, created some of the chairs and table tops.
New tasting room to come
Set to open mid-summer, the new tasting room will follow the same style — natural elements to provide a comfortable environment. There will be an outdoor fireplace, a large oval bar, a patio and a wall of windows with breathtaking views of Okanagan Lake.

There will be a wide range of Okanagan wine for you to try — perhaps a few flights of aromatic white wine, Chardonnay or Pinot Noir are in your future!
Looking to the future
Not only are these renovations and builds happening to their tasting room and restaurant, but CedarCreek Estate Winery has plenty of plans for the future.
