Kamloops residents looking for a white Christmas will need to keep dreaming.

According to Environment Canada meteorologist Matt MacDonald, Kamloops' chance of a white Christmas is slim to none. 

"If you're dreaming of a white Christmas, you'll just have to keep dreaming," said MacDonald. 

"What you see is what you get, there is no more snow on the way here for probably at least the next week. That being said, there's a whole wack of snow that fell in the mountains last weekend, Thursday through Saturday, so all you have to do if you're looking for the white stuff, is go up in elevation, there's plenty of snow in the surrounding hills."

MacDonald adds that Kamloops is in store for some fairly mild temperatures over the next week, noting clouds and sunshine will be in the forecast. 

"Pretty quiet week weather-wise really. We'll be stuck with some valley clouds over the next couple days, Christmas is looking like a cloudy one, but the sun comes out Thursday and Friday, it should be a beautiful day."

"Highs of about zero (degrees) or plus one so just a little bit milder than seasonal for this time of year." 

MacDonald went on to say that snow is still a possibility in the near future. 

"As we get into next weekend, there's a weak system that will blow through the South Thompson there and maybe we'll see a few light flurries, but really no major storms on the horizon."
