Canada’s astronauts are based at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. Their work involves supporting space missions in progress and preparing for a future mission by taking extensive training. The recruitment for new Canadian astronauts will run until Aug. 15, 2016.
The CSA will select two qualified astronaut candidates from a diverse pool of Canadian citizens with a wide variety of backgrounds. Those selected after the first round of evaluation will take part in a rigorous selection process that will last almost a year.
