It was a big day for Tesla as the electric-vehicle powerhouse opened up their massive new dealership and service centre in Langford on Thursday afternoon.

The 35,000 square-foot facility is located at 2361 City Gate Blvd in Langford and they provided a grand opening ceremony yesterday afternoon.

It provided perspective Tesla owners with an opportunity to test drive one of the models and offer them with inside knowledge on what it may be like to own one of their vehicles.

While current Tesla owners will no longer have to take the ferry over to Vancouver to have their vehicle serviced as the new centre will be able to handle any repairs that may come their way.

West Shore RCMP was also in attendance as they were showcasing their 'Model Y' prototype vehicle that they have been utilizing since February. It is been equipped to meet policing standards and has been used by frontline officers to respond to calls for service.
