Prince George RCMP had four suspects in custody on Wednesday as they continued to investigate a shooting that occurred earlier this week.
According to police, officers attended a residence on Parkview Street yesterday afternoon to speak with occupants of the home. While there, officers noticed a handgun on the kitchen counter.
A search of the residence found another handgun, an SKS rifle, a rifle with a suppressor, ammunition, body armour, a significant amount of cash, and a large number of drugs. All occupants of the house, which included two 21-year-old men, a 19-year-old man, and a 22-year-old woman, were arrested.
Neither the firearms nor the people arrested are believed to be involved in the shooting. All four suspects were released pending further investigation and charge approval.
Earlier that day, officers were called to Moss Avenue where a resident found a handgun in a snowbank. A short time later, they responded to a suspicious vehicle with broken windows on Upland Street.
After attending that scene, police noticed the vehicle had several bullet holes in the side of it. The vehicle was seized as part of the investigation.
Residents should take note that this incident was a targeted attack and part of the local drug trade. Investigators have no reason to believe the public is at risk.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
