This is some breaking news!

  • Sunday Social Connection: @shotsbyluke

    KelownaNow is excited to feature some of our favorite Instagram profiles from the area!

    Hi! I'm Luke. I'm originally from Ontario and I've lived in Penticton for the last two and half years. I work in the wine industry and this harvest is my third vintage. Besides wine, shooting photo and video has been my one of my passions for over ten years.

    Why do you use Instagram?

    I use Instagram to post my work and stay connected with family and friends.

    What will people see on your feed?

    People will see adventure and exploring beautiful places in Canada's backyard. I love to get off the beaten path and discover spots I didn't know existed. As well as things I love; wine, food, coffee, cycling, skiing, camping, climbing, and wild animals.

    Does your page have a specific style?

    This one is difficult to answer about myself. Ask someone who knows me.
    I like to only photo edit to the bare minimum and keep it realistic. Real, raw, and authentic.

    Favourite Instagrammers to follow?

    @youdidnotsleepthere – because it's hilarious
    @bushywayne – because he's an inspiration to live more freely
    @yungdexthegreat – Bushy's dog, Dex
    @msmaurita – because she's my sister and doing awesome things at the moment
    @shittymountaineer – great sense of humour with a knack for backcountry skiing

    Why do you follow KelownaNow?

    For Kelowna news.

    How do you decide on your location for shoots?

    If I find a beautiful or interesting place. Hearing about something from a friend. Sometimes by researching on the internet.

    Biggest Instagram moment?

    As in fame moment? @hellobc reposted a couple shots of mine.

    Favourite hashtags?
