I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors as much as I can. The solitude is so refreshing after a busy day or work week. Nothing compares to being secluded on the lake, mountaintop, river, or in a forest. Things like that recharge my soul.
Why do you use Instagram?
I enjoy the global connection it has with people of similar interests. It’s amazing to connect with someone from a very different place, see their experiences and, in turn, share yours.
What will people see on your feed?
For the most part, they will see landscape shots of places I have been, and the beauty captured through my lens. On occasion, they may see snaps of me and my rottweiler Sergeant. It’s a personal page that morphed into a photography page (since I couldn’t handle two Instagram accounts at once apparently- ha!).
Does your page have a specific style?
The goal I have for my page is to create images that reflect the true beauty I see with my naked eye. I love saturated landscape shots with high clarity. Included with most images are favourite poems or quotes of mine.
Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?
Not surprising I thoroughly enjoy fellow landscape photographers @bearswithcameras @kailawalton @claudia.is.gone, but I love having a mix of creative artists on my page whether it be beauty, painting, poetry, food, you name it.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
I go wherever I feel, usually pulling out the brmb for new places to see and explore.
Biggest Instagram moment?
Connecting with professional artists from around the world thrills me every day. What an honour to have peers with all amounts of experience critique and compliment you.
Favourite hashtags?
Though I do try to switch up part of my tags with each image themselves, some favourites are #northernbc #getoutside #longexposure (one of my favourite things to see) #mountainview #bcwaterfalls #poetryofig … I could go on and on…
Why do you follow PrinceGeorgeNow?
I enjoy being connected to my local area whether it be news, events, restaurants, people, or places. Working a full-time job doesn’t allow for a lot of connection locally, so it’s a dream to be able to see other talented people around me doing what they love, as well as being updated on what I should know in the city.
