    My name is Trevor Houston, and I am a photographer during my spare time. I love nature and hiking, so my passion for landscape photography is a perfect fit. If you can't find me, I'm most likely out exploring.

    Why do you use Instagram?

    I use Instagram as a way to connect with other photographers interested in exploring nature. I find Instagram very helpful for ideas on content and locations, as well as I am able to get feedback on my work. There are a number of great photographers in our city that I draw inspiration from.

    What will people see on your feed?

    An abundance of my favourite places captured and shared from my perspective. I enjoy photographing my hikes, so there is a lot of nature to be found on my page. I hope viewers are motivated to get outside and enjoy some of the locations after seeing my work, but at the very least I just hope they enjoy what I've shared. There is no shortage of beautiful places to see in British Columbia, and with time I'd like to photograph them all.

    Do you have a specific style?

    Some of my favourite pictures are of colourful scenery, long exposures of either water or the night sky, and I'm a sucker for a good landscape reflection shot. I really enjoy trying new things, so over time, I think people will be seeing more creative and unique shots posted. Oh, and you can count on a couple Toyota pictures from time to time!

    Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?

    @KamloopsBCNow, @HikeKamloops, @CascadiaExplored, @HelloBC, @longexpoelite, @ScottProjectPhotography, @Cody.Roy.Visuals, but my favourite belongs to one of my dogs @DieselsDay.

    Why do you follow KamloopsBCNow?

    KamloopsBCNow seems to be very connected with the community. I really enjoy both their media coverage and their social media approach to share what's important in our city.

    How do you decide on the locations for your shoots?

    Those mostly revolve around my hiking plans, but I also enjoy driving the backroads so some shots are just captured out of the window of my truck. There is a lot of rich nature around that is to be explored and when I do, I always have my Nikon with me.

    Biggest Instagram moment?

    Recently, KamloopsBCNow shared the nine most popular photos of 2017 and I was honoured when I found out two of the pictures were mine. I always enjoy when my photos are shared, as I feel sharing is the best recognition we can give on social media.

    Favourite Hashtags?

    Some of my most commonly used hashtags are #explorebc, #explorekamloops, #kamloopsbcnow, #hikekamloops, #moodygrams, #agameoftones, #pnwonderland and #thatpnwlife.
