Hi! My name is Danielle and I’m a 25-year-old photographer here in Kelowna who also dabbles in modelling. I was born and raised in Kelowna, I moved away for a few years and came back about 3 years ago now and don’t plan on leaving again. I love this city; the Okanagan is full of so many beautiful areas everywhere you look and some pretty incredible people that call this place home. Photography has long been a passion of mine and I tend to be out shooting or modelling any spare chance I get!

    Why do you use Instagram?

I use Instagram because it’s a great platform to share my art and be inspired by other creatives from all over the world. It’s also a great tool to connect with other local creatives in order to collaborate with on future projects!

What will people see on your feed?

My feed mostly consists of portraits and nature, lately my feed has been a lot of self-portraits as that’s what I’ve been shooting the most of. There are also photos of me from some of my wonderful photographer friends that I am lucky enough to know and shoot with regularly. You will also find puppies, flowers and mountains, haha it’s a wide range of things.

Does your page have a specific style?

My style tends to be more on the moody side! I love rich colours, high contrast and I shoot more on the darker side for my personal work which is what my Instagram mainly is 🙂

    Favourite Instagrammers to follow?

Some favourite local accounts I follow are @whitewillow_fashion and @wolfettestyling they are always creating these amazing projects and are huge inspirations to me. My friend @rachellebeatty is another favourite, she and I do a lot of creative work together and she is just one of my favourite people in general!

    Why do you follow KelownaNow?

KelownaNow is a great space that shares local places and people and really fosters a lovely community vibe 🙂

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

I’m a natural light photographer for the most part and my locations are usually always out in nature so I tend to decide where to shoot based on the available light and the feeling it evokes.

    Biggest Instagram moment?

I reached over 1000 followers this year which I thought was pretty cool, crazy to think that there are that many people that like to see my photography on a regular basis!

    Favourite Hashtags?

I’m in some photography groups on Facebook so my favourite hashtags are linked to those accounts #lookslikefilm #babetowncollective #beunraveled and of course #kelownanow is top on my list too!
