My name is Christina Loewen and I am a blogger and Instagrammer. I became interested in photography when my daughter was born and I quickly grew passionate about it. I began to share my photos on Instagram and found it to be an incredibly inspiring place full of other creative people. I continue to share my photos on Instagram with nature and my family as my inspiration. 

Why do you use Instagram?

I use Instagram as a creative outlet. I really enjoy photography and styling photos and Instagram is a great way to share my photos with other like minded people. 

What will people see on your feed?

Mostly photos of my daughter and I with beautiful Okanagan scenery as our backdrop.

Does your page have a specific style?

I try to go for a whimsical and almost fairytale look with my photos.

Favourite Instagrammers to follow?

Oh my gosh there are so many! Right now, a few of my favourite accounts are:

@helena.moore – Her photography inspires me greatly and encourages me to think outside the box. 

@lynzyandco – I love her style and she is so real.

@_rebeccasiewert – A local mom who does gorgeous black and white photography with the coolest light.

@me_and_orla – Her feed is beautifully moody and she is so artistic. 

@alexandriaslens – She takes such unique and dreamy photos of her family. 

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

I am very inspired by nature. If I see a pretty flower bush or a blooming orchard, you can bet I’ll be there photographing it. I like to choose spots that are unique and almost ‘magical’. I am always looking for these pretty little locations and there are so many in our town; my favourite being Paynters’ Fruit Market. Our town is so beautiful in every season!

Why do you follow KelownaNow?

I love seeing all the gorgeous shots of our town! It gives me inspiration for my own photography. It also keeps me informed on what’s going on in our town.

Biggest Instagram moment?

Probably when I hit 10K followers. I never expected my account to take off the way it did and I started out with zero knowledge of photography. When I hit the 10K mark I realized how far I had come and that what I was doing was something that other people actually liked!
