Breaking News:

This is some breaking news!

  • Sunday Social Connection: @brooklynkaylaphotography

KelownaNow is excited to feature some of our favorite Instagram profiles from the area!

My name is Brooklyn and I was born and raised in Ontario. I moved to Kelowna 3 years ago and absolutely fell in love with the beauty and BC lifestyle. I have a passion for photography, travelling , exploring new places and meeting new people! I love capturing the beauty of nature and animals and telling a story through my photography.

    Why do you use Instagram?

I love to use Instagram because it’s a great way to display my work and connect with other photographers in the community and around the world. It’s a great way to learn from other photographers and I love being able to share my travels and vision with others.

What will people see on your feed?

They will mostly see nature, animal and landscape shots of the Okanagan (mountains, lakes, hiking) and they can follow along with my travels around the world.

Does your page have a specific style?

I am continuing to learn and grow my photography skills and style but it has definitely evolved a lot over the past 2 years. I love trying out different exposures and new techniques but I would say my overall style captures the beauty of nature and animals.

    Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?

A few of my favourite Instagram accounts are @vanlifedistrict, @stevengienphotography (the ultimate sunset capturer), @tourismkelowna, @hellobc, @natgeo and @natgeoadventure

    Why do you follow KelownaNow?

I follow KelownaNow because I love supporting local and keeping up to date with everything Kelowna. I also love seeing other local photographers photos reposted.

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

I love to hike and explore new places around the Okanagan so I try to bring my camera with me on these adventures knowing that the view at the top is going to be spectacular. I try to keep an eye out on the weather for nice sunrises and sunsets and I usually like to set up my shots near the lake in West Kelowna.

    Biggest Instagram moment?

I think my biggest Instagram moment was when one of my first photos I ever posted was reposted for the first time by @tourismkelowna and got over 500 likes. I couldn’t believe the love and support from those people and the continuous support throughout my photography journey.
