Rebecca Horsting is a farmer's daughter who's in love with photography, Tarantino films, fashion and supermodels from the nineties. But, it doesn't stop there — Rebecca's favourite genre of music is nineties grunge and when she's not snapping pics, you can find her with friends having four-hour dinners that are filled with great conversation. She works alongside such a talented group of individuals @rahairstudio — they are truly her family, like the light of her life, her daughter.
Why do you use Instagram?
I use Instagram as a creative outlet to express how I’m feeling or to show something that I’m currently loving. I show this with a photograph and a caption which usually consists of some musical lyrics that I can’t get out of my head. I find a lot of inspiration for my own gallery from some of the incredible accounts that I follow.
What will people see on your feed?
WAY too many photos of roses (dead, dying or alive), my current obsessions — fashion or special items I come across at antique stores — really anything that catches my eye that I think is beautiful, such as our stunning desert landscape or the moody streets of the west village in New York City (when I get the chance to visit!) I have a thing for vintage cars, soft grunge music and nails that are WAY too long.
Do you have a specific style?
No, my style seems to grow, develop and change all the time. I seem to stick with photos that incorporate a lot of white and black but lately you can see more earth tones. I am extremely inspired by some accounts I follow from New York City and Arizona… I think my style is somewhere in the middle.

Why do you follow KamloopsBCNow?
To find out what’s going on locally, especially when it revolves around anything food related!
How do you decide on the locations for your shoots?
I only have locations planned if I’m doing an actual photo shoot. I take the majority of my photos in my home, but I am literally taking photos all the time whenever I see something I find beautiful or interesting.
Biggest Instagram moment?
I had this photo of these beautiful boots I bought and the designer liked the photo which led to about 700 other accounts liking the photo. I think I deleted that photo like a year ago or so because I thought it didn’t flow well. Silly me.
Favourite Hashtags?
I don’t use hashtags! But I do on the other accounts I manage @rahairstudio @kenkozhair @kenny_kozuki
