  • Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin dead at 27

    Anton Yelchin, who is best known for his role as Chekov in Star Trek, has died at the age of 27.

    According to StarTrek.com, the actor was killed at home in Los Angeles by his own car.

    He took his first role in Star Trek in 2009, and went on to be involved in Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond, which will be released next month.

    Yelchin emigrated from Russia with his family to the United States as a baby.

    Once he kicked off his acting career, he appeared in ER, Hearts in Atlantis, The Practice, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Alpha Dog, Huff and Charlie Bartlett.

    After his first Star Trek movie, he went on to be in Terminator Salvation, The Beaver, Fright Night, Only Lovers Left Alive, Experimenter and Green Room.

    Besides Star Trek Beyond, multiple other flicks involving Yelchin are set for release in the near future, including We Don't Belong Here, Porto, Rememory and Thoroughbred.

    Since his death was confirmed, many celebrities have tweeted out about the actor.
