In 2010, Spotify had just seven-million users and only 250,000 of them were paying subscribers.

Sure, that seems like a lot, but if you compare it to how many people pay to use the music streaming service 10 years later, it’s minuscule.

Around 113-million people are paying Spotify subscribers as we get ready to turn the page from 2019 to 2020, ending the decade.

That’s a lot of users, which translates to a lot of streams, and today Spotify released a list of the most streamed artists and songs of the decade.

The top streaming artist, not entirely surprisingly, is Drake, who is constantly in the spotlight, whether it’s for his music or his antics at Toronto Raptors games.

Rounding out the top five of most streamed artists of the decade are Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Ariana Grande and Eminem.

Although he’s second on the artist list, Sheeran does have the most streamed song of the decade with his hit track “Shape of You” from January 2017.

As of November 2019, the song had been streamed an unbelievable 2.351-billion times, the only song to eclipse two-billion streams, something it accomplished in less than three years.

Rounding out the top five most-streamed songs of the decade are “One Dance” by Drake, Post Malone’s “rockstar,” “Closer” by The Chainsmokers and once again Ed Sheeran with “Thinking Out Loud.”

For just 2019, the top-streamed artist was Post Malone, the most played song was “Señorita” by Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello and Billie Eilish’s latest album was the most-streamed full record.
