Penticton resident and esteemed poet Shayne Koyczan has announced a performance in town next month.
“I get a lot of questions asking when I’m ever going to do another show in the valley. Wait no longer,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “I’ll be home for the holidays so will be doing a one night only show in Penticton on Dec 7th.”
Koyczan say that tickets are on sale now, and won’t be around much longer.
“So come on in from out of the cold and warm yourself with some stories and laughs,” he said.
“Having spent the holidays alone since losing my grandmother has been difficult, and I know what a dark time of year this can be for some people. All we have is each other… so let’s spend some time together,” he added.
Koyzcan is most famous for his anti-bullying spoken word poem To This Day, which has garnered over 20 million views on YouTube.
He also penned a poem in response to the fatal Penticton shootings earlier this year.
The show takes place at 7:30 pm on Dec. 7, 2019 at the Cleland Community Theatre (325 Power Street). Tickets are available at the Penticton Community Theatre, or by calling (250) 490-2426 ext. 6. For more information, click here.
