  • Snowfall warning in effect for Coquihalla today

    A snowfall warning is in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt.

    About 10 to 20 cm is expected throughout the day.

    According to Environment Canada, a low-pressure system is expected to cross the BC Interior today, with heavy snowfall starting early this evening.

    Both the Coquihalla Summit and Allison Pass could receive 15 to 20 cm, with southern parts of the Fraser Canyon hitting 10 cm.

    The snow is expected to ease on Sunday.

    "Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow," stated a spokesperson for Environment Canada.
