Those travelling on the Okanagan Connector may want to break out the snow brush.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement expecting two to four centimetres of snow to fall on the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna.

Flurries began overnight and will continue near Pennask Summit until Friday afternoon when the forecast will change to a chance of showers.

The snowfall is caused by a cold upper trough of low pressure moving into the southern interior.

There is a risk of thunderstorms on Friday afternoon in Kelowna and Kamloops. More rain is expected over the weekend with Environment Canada calling for a 30 per cent chance of showers in the area.
