UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens east of Chase

(UPDATE: 4:30 pm) – Drive BC is reporting that an earlier incident east of Chase has been cleared.

Crews are now off the road and traffic is flowing in both directions.

Drivers can expect some delays due to congestion in the area.

(Original Story: 3:15 pm) – Travellers using Hwy 1 should be aware that a portion of the road is currently closed.

According to Drive BC, the highway is closed in both directions east of Chase at the bottom of Chase Hill for "slope assessment" and debris on the road.

The next update is scheduled for 4:30 pm. Residents can still travel east via the Okanagan Connector.
