The revival of the much loved night market on Sideny’s Beacon Avenue is set to become a reality this summer.

The town has announced that plans for the market to return have been finalized, with the first event taking place June 15, 2023. 

Following a Request for Proposals process, the Town of Sidney has signed an agreement with Victoria-based Blue Coast Event Group to operate the Sidney Street Market on Thursday evenings throughout the summer.

The Sidney Street Market was previously held in the Mary Winspear Centre parking lot during the summer of 2021 and 2022, due to the pandemic.

With the longstanding removal of COVID-related health restrictions in BC, holding the market on Beacon Avenue “is once again feasible.”

This June will be the first time the market has been held on Beacon Avenue since 2019.

The market will run on Thursday evenings from 5:30pm to 8:30pm beginning June 15 to September 14.
