Reminder: Highway 97 is fully open from Summerland to Peachland with reduced speeds

The Mount Eneas wildfire has not grown overnight, and Highway 97 between Summerland and Peachland remains full open to traffic in both directions.

There are reduced speeds because of flaggers assisting firefighters within the fire zone. Drivers are advised to watch for debris, firefighters and equipment that may be on the road.

BC Wildfire reports that that the fire stayed within the containment lines yesterday, and did not cross the highway yesterday or overnight.

The RCMP were previously escorting travellers through the fire zone due to the dynamic situation. Make sure to monitor DriveBC for any updates before you travel.
