Warm weather reaching into record breaking territory is expected to hit Kamloops this weekend.

Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 33 C on Saturday, a couple degrees short of the record breaking 35 C set in 1969.

Sunday’s weather has a chance of breaking the record of 35 C set in 1957; Environment Canada predicts a high of 36 C.

The weather will remain in the 30s on Monday and Tuesday with highs of 33 C and 32 C.

The weather will cool off throughout the rest of the week with clouds and highs in the high 20s.

Several records could be broken across the province as temperatures as high as 37 C are expected in the B.C.  Interior over the weekend.

Residents are reminded to cover up and wear sunscreen to help reduce their risk of sun exposure.
