The Kelowna RCMP are still investigating the fire at Knox Mountain that took place on Sunday afternoon.
The fire is being treated as human caused.

Kelowna RCMP and the Kelowna Fire Department responded to a wildfire at Knox Mountain on July 30th at 2:03 p.m.
Initially it was reported that the fire was intentionally set and an unknown person was observed walking away from the scene.
While the Kelowna Fire Dept worked on containing the fire, RCMP officers set up a perimeter in the area in an attempt to identify as many people as possible.
BC Wildfire Services also assisted with the fire.

In addition to RCMP resources on the ground, RCMP Air Services were also used to survey from the air along with a Police Service Dog team.
"Although no structures were damaged as a result of the fire, it certainly posed an immediate risk to area residents," stated Cpl Dan Moskaluk. "The immediate response from the Kelowna Fire Dept, BC Wildfire Services and the Kelowna RCMP mitigated the possibilities of the fire spreading and the endangerment of the residences in the area. A variety of descriptions of possible suspects were given to police, and this time the investigation is ongoing."
