Mounties are searching for a suspect they say caused thousands of dollars in damage after trashing a car parked near Kalamalka Lake.
It happened at Cosen’s Bay parking lot in Coldstream between 7 pm and 7:45 pm on June 16.
A resident from the area parked there before going for a bike ride in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park.
Upon returning, the resident found the car had been badly damaged – every door had been vandalized, as well as the hood, trunk, driver’s side window and quarter panel.

But police said a suspect was caught on camera thanks to the vehicle's “amazing” technology.
“The suspect caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to this vehicle and we are hoping someone recognizes him,” Cpl Tania Finn said.
Police provided the following description of the suspect:

Between 18 and 25 years old

Short dark hair

Dark shorts
-
Black runners
-
Carrying a silver-coloured scooter
Mounties said there has been a recent increase in such acts of vandalism as well as thefts.
