West Shore RCMP saved a Langford man’s life with the quick administer of naloxone after they responded to an emergency call early Monday morning.

Photo credit: 123rfThey arrived on scene to find the 53-year-old man lying face down and unresponsive. Recognizing the situation as an overdose caused by the consumption of opiates, the officers quickly administered two doses of naloxone and the man began breathing. 

“Our training, the addition of naloxone to the frontline officer’s kit and the quick actions of these officers were all contributing factors to saving this man’s life,” said Constable Meghan Groulx, of the West Shore RCMP. 

He would later be transferred to a local hospital to undergo further treatment and recovery.
