The renowned RCMP Musical Ride has arrived in Kamloops for performances tonight and tomorrow and the public is invited to visit the troop before its big evening show.

The horses and Mounties are at the McArthur Island Curling Rink from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both today and tomorrow before their 6 p.m. performances at McArthur Island Park.

Thirty-two majestic black horses and scarlet-coated Mounties will perform their world-renowned showcase of intricate figures and cavalry drills choreographed to music. The Musical Ride has been a Canadian tradition since 1876. Tickets for the show are available online and in person at Flavours of India, Kamloops Insurance, Fortune Health Foods and The Horse Barn.

However, there is no ticket required to visit the horses on site at the stables throughout the day. The meet-and-greet will also feature community displays, booths and food trucks. Head down and check it out!

If you are planning to attend the 6 p.m. performance, be aware bleacher seats are first-come, first-served. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket for the grass because seating is limited.

The event is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Kamloops Aurora Centennial and will help support its local programs, including the Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association, TRU Foundation, the Starfish Backpack Program and international projects such as Light Up Guatemala. The club is also supporting victims of the B.C. wildfires.
