The Prince George RCMP are warning the public about less common drugs after a recent seizure.

On April 6, the RCMP executed a controlled drugs and substances act search warrant on a motel room on Central Street.

Police believe they found a significant amount of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana.

RCMP also seized an unknown substance, a variety of prescription drugs as well as a vehicle and other items that were believed to be involved in trafficking of drugs.

Preliminary tests have been conducted and the unknown substance is believed to be carfentanil and GHB.

Both the substances have their own set of warnings to the public.

Carfentanil is an analogue to fentanyl and is extremely lethal. According to police, it is a synthetic opioid that can be missed easily with other drugs.

GHB is a solvent primarily used in floor cleaner.It is made in a lab using chemicals such as lye and sodium hydroxide.

When ingested, GHB can cause an intoxication like alcohol and severe memory loss. It is also known as a “date rape” drug.

A 49-year-old man from Prince George and a 42-year-old Vancouver man were arrested at the motel and later released pending charge approval.

RCMP are unsure about how much of the drug could be on the streets.
