Prince George RCMP had to act quickly last week when dealing with a couple of drug traffickers. 

According to police, on Thursday evening, the Street Crew Unit arrested a 28-year-old man and a 34-year-old man in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. The arrests were both made outside a residence on Garvin Street. 

Due to safety concerns, investigators were assisted by the Emergency Response Team and the Police Dog Service. Search warrants were also executed at the residence, as well as at a home on the 2900 block of 15th Avenue. 

As a result of the searches, officers seized more than one kilogram of cocaine and methamphetamine, a handgun, ammunition, and a large amount of cash.

Both suspects were released without charge at this time, pending the completion of the investigation and charge approval from the Federal Prosecution Service of Canada.
