Prince George RCMP is encouraging the public to attend its charity event this Sunday. 

According to RCMP, "Pack-A-Police Car" is returning at all four local Save-On-Foods between 9 am and 3 pm. Officers will be on hand looking for non-perishable food donations that will be given to the Prince George Council of Seniors to help with low-income residents this holiday season.

Detachment staff and offices will work alongside 100 police volunteers to make this Pack-A-PC the best one yet. Residents are asked to purchase an extra item or two while grocery shopping so they can stuff it in a cruiser. 

Save-On-Foods stores are located in College Heights, on the Hart Highway, Parkwood Mall, and Spruceland Mall. Items suggested for donation include canned vegetables, soups, beans, fruits, juices, fish, chicken, ham, or corned beef, as well as shelf-stable UHT milk, wrapped tissue, instant oatmeal, rice, pasta, various mixes, peanut butter, crackers, tea, and more. 

"Please consider low sugar, no sugar and low salt items," wrote Cpl. Craig Douglass. 

Volunteers will also accept cash donations and grocery store gift cards. Perishable food items will be purchased just before the food is delivered later this month.
