Prince George RCMP has been doing all they can with bait property in the city lately…
According to police, on January 9th, the Downtown Safety Unit deployed a bait vehicle in the heart of the city. Within the first hour of the vehicle being deployed, a lone suspect approached it and peered inside the passenger window.
After waiting for a car to drive by, the suspect entered the vehicle. Moments later, the suspect exited the vehicle with bait property in hand. He remained in the area under observation for several minutes before fleeing on foot.
Officer quickly approached the suspect to make an arrest. The suspect tried to run but officers quickly apprehended him without incident.
The BC Prosecution Service has approved two charges against 22-year-old Ulysses Sydney Nicholas. He's been charged with theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.
Nicolas has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 12th.
