    Prince George Cougars recall 2 goalies after injury to Taylor Gauthier

    Just days after starting goalie Taylor Gauthier sustained a lower-body injury, the Prince George Cougars were making moves. 

    The club announced on Friday they would be calling up goaltender Jacob Herman from the Swift Current Legionnaires. In addition to that, the team has signed goalie Carter Woodside to a three-game tryout.

    Both these moves come as Gauthier is listed "day-to-day" and Tyler Brennan is at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge with Team Canada White.

    Herman, who signed with the Cougars last month, has won eight of his last 11 starts in the SMHL, posting a 2.04 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. Woodside is currently playing for the Princeton Posse in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. He was signed by the Regina Pats in August 2018 after being acquired in a trade with the former Kootenay ICE.

    Both goalies are with the Cougars for a pair of road games this weekend against the Kelowna Rockets tonight and Spokane Chiefs on Saturday.
