Poll: What are your feelings about Bill C-18 (the Online News Act)?

As many of you know, the recently passed Bill C-18, also known as the Online News Act, will significantly change how news is shared on major tech platforms.

This law will require tech giants Google and Meta to pay media outlets for news content shared on their platforms.

Meta has confirmed that it will respond to the bill by discontinuing news availability for its Canadian users on Facebook and Instagram. Google has also hinted at potentially removing news links from its search engine as a response to the bill.

KamloopsNow and VernonNow have already been blocked from sharing our links on Instagram stories, and some of our followers (and staff) cannot view our KelownaNow Instagram account.
