Police are looking for a truck that may have been involved in a firearms incident in Colwood last week.
On July 13 at about 5:10 pm, the West Shore RCMP responded to a report of gunshots in the area near Terrahue Rd and Metchosin Rd in Colwood.
Officers along with Police Dog Services responded immediately and conducted a neighbourhood search/canvass for evidence and to ensure the safety of local residents.
A firearm was recovered by police.
There are no reports of injuries, and police believe it was an isolated incident.
Police said they received reports of a grey Toyota Tacoma truck driving from Terrahue Rd to Metchosin Rd and onto Lagoon Rd at the time of the initial complaint and believe the occupant(s) inside the truck may be involved in the incident.
Description of truck:
- newer model Toyota Tacoma;
- distinctive front push bar.
Police are still investigating this incident and are looking to identify the occupants of the truck.
If you were in the area at the time of the offence and were witness to it, please call police.
Police are also requesting homeowners who live between Terrahue Rd and Metchosin Rd, (up until it meets up with Lagoon Rd), to check your home surveillance or dash cameras for any footage that may have captured the truck driving by or any other suspicious activity on July 13 between the hours of 4 pm and 6 pm.
