Prince George RCMP is investigating following a shooting that took place in the city this morning.
According to police, at 2:30 am, officers were called to 6th Avenue and Alward Street after hearing reports of shots being fired in the area. Multiple RCMP members attended immediately and found evidence of a shooting in an alley near-by.
At that point, no victims or suspects were located.
Later that day, a vehicle associated with an address near the scene was located with what appeared to be bullet holes. The vehicle's driver was spoken too, but they refused to cooperate with the police.
Through investigation, officers now believe that the incident was targeted and related to the drug trade. A number of resources have been allocated to this investigation with the goal of identifying who was involved.
