(UPDATE: 2:40 pm) – It has been a busy day for Prince George RCMP as they are now in the middle of an aggravated assault investigation. 

According to police, a shooting took place early this morning which sent two people to the hospital with gunshot wounds. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and officers have spoken with both victims. 

Investigation led officers to believe that the victims were shot by someone they knew on the 3100 block of Westwood Drive. The scene was secured and evidence was gathered. 

While patrolling for the suspect, officers observed a suspicious man in a large SUV. The vehicle did not stop and evaded capture. 

A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located outside a residence in Willow River. The Police Dog Service and the Emergency Response Team were called in to assist. 

Later, four women and six men were taken into custody without incident. The suspect was not among them. 

Although a motive of this attack is yet to be confirmed, investigators believe it was targeted. Police don't believe this incident was connected to a shooting that took place in the city on Tuesday.

(Original Story: 12 pm) – A police incident is currently unfolding in the Willow River Community. 

According to Prince George RCMP, officers entered into an investigation concerning public safety earlier this morning. The investigation led police to a residence in the community east of Prince George. 

In addition to officers, the detachment's Police Dog Services Unit and the North District Emergency Response Team have been called in to assist. 

Police have surrounded a residence and are attempting to have all occupants exit the house without incident. Residents are asked to avoid the area if possible.
