Police continue search for Victoria man who disappeared 2 years ago

It has been two years since the disappearance of 55-year-old Ian Indridson.

He was last seen on the morning of Jan. 10, 2022. When he was reported missing, police said it was believed he may have gone to the ocean that morning.

The investigation into his disappearance remains open.

He is described as a 55-year-old Caucasian man standing 5’11’’, with a slim build. He has short grey and black hair.

At the time he disappeared, he is believed to have been wearing a dark-coloured Eddie Bauer sweater, black sweatpants and black rubber boots.

Police ask anyone who sees him to please call 911.

Last year, his family started a GoFundMe in order to try and hire a private investigator, as traditional efforts through police and search and rescue teams came up empty.

In the campaign, Indridson’s wife said that around the time of his disappearance, he was experiencing extreme stress, anxiety and sleep deprivation.

She added that she believed it was possible that he had an “extreme flight response” that may have “compelled him to wander away from the familiar.”

“He is deeply loved and desperately missed and we will not give up. He’s a good, lovely human being and deserves to be found, no matter what,” his wife said.

“Ian is super smart, personable and resourceful. He loves life, and if he wanted to survive, he would find a way.”

If you have any information about where he may be and have not yet spoken with officers, please call the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654, extension 1.

To report what you know anonymously, call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit a tip online.
