Police said the man had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest.
When police arrived, the male barricaded himself inside his residence in the 9600 block of Third Street.
The Vancouver Island RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to assist, and were able to call the suspect out of the home where he was arrested without further incident.
“This situation has been resolved and there is no risk to the public,” states Cst. Tim Cosgrove, Media Relations Officer for the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP.
Police added that no further details will be shared at this time as the file remains an active investigation.
