Starlight Stadium in Langford has been transformed from the soccer pitch to the Rugby Field for the weekend as the Rugby Americas North Sevens Paris 2024 Qualification Event kicked off this morning.
Canada is showcasing both their men's and women's national teams as they bid for a spot at the upcoming summer Olympic Games.
The 10 teams from seven different countries have been training at the University of Victoria and Starlight Stadium throughout the week in final preparations for the qualification event.

There is plenty at stake in the event as the winner from both the men's and women's side will automatically qualify for the 2024 games in Paris.
While the second and third place countries will qualify for the 2024 Olympic repechage tournament

The second matchup of the day saw Jamaica and Barbados square off with the Jamaican side claiming victory as they boasted an impressive support system from the audience in Langford.
