On Wednesday, Environment Canada issued snowfall warnings for several communities in the coastal province, where more than 30 cm of snow dumped overnight and more forecast before the weekend.

While a late May snowstorm may seem cruel, it's certainly not unusual for Newfoundland.
Last year, the part's of the province saw as much as 125 cm after a record-setting storm hit at the beginning of April.
