A new petition asking that the peach be put back in Peachland is gaining interest online.
The petition is asking that the town of Peachland plant several peach trees around the community in order to give meaning to the name.

“Long has it been that the town of Peachland has gone without the fruit that attributed itself the namesake – peaches,” reads the petition.
It continues, explaining the reasoning behind adding the fruit trees.
“The fair town has nothing of the sort to re-enforce it’s peachy brand. Without any peach orchards or festivals or events, the town remains quite peachless, something that is often quite confusing when it comes to the namesake of the town or tourism.”
The petition is asking to see a “modest amount of peach saplings” planted, preferably in the range of five to seven.
Additionally, it asks that, at the very least, a small plaque be placed next to one of the trees with a history of the town.
“Alongside keeping true to the namesake of the town and the boost in tourism, it feels intrinsically correct to have peaches in a place called peachland,” it says.
“Let's bring back our peaches to Peachland!”
