Avalanche control work on the Trans-Canada Highway will close the route overnight between Revelstoke and Golden.

Drive BC reports that the closure will begin at 11:45 p.m. and continue until noon Saturday.

No detour will be available during the closure. 

Intermittent avalanche control will also continue on both sides of the Trans-Canada during the closure. 

Several weather warnings have also been issued for BC highways. 

On Hwy 1 from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, meanwhile, between 15 and 25 centimetres of snow is expected to fall.

Hwy 3 from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass is expected to see pockets of freezing rain today, Environment Canada warned.
