  • Our Canada Day forecast is calling for sweater weather and rain

Kelowna’s Canada Day celebrations won’t come with a lot heat this year.

NowMedia meteorologist Wesla English says that we are looking at cooler temperatures for the rest of the long weekend.

"Keep an extra layer handy through the rest of the Canada Day long weekend as temperatures will stay below seasonal when another shot of cool air moves in from the north,” says English.

In addition to cool temperatures, some rainfall is also possible today so you may want to bring an umbrella or raincoat in addition to an extra layer.

“Circulation around an upper low crossing into our region will direct more clouds and showers at times into our region Sunday and Monday. Our weather pattern will gradually begin to warm up and dry up starting Tuesday."

Currently it is 15°C under a mix of sun and cloud  with light winds. The UV index is at 0 and expected to reach 7 today and the pollen index is moderate.

Enjoy celebrating Canada’s 151st! Keep an eye out for our coverage of the birthday bash!
