(UPDATE: June 10 @ 9:45 a.m.) – Police have recovered the bodies of two men who went missing after a boat crash on Osoyoos Lake on Saturday.

The bodies, belonging to a 35-year-old Kamloops man and 36-year-old Maple Ridge man, were pulled from the lake shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Both boats remain at the bottom of the lake and the RCMP are still at the scene making efforts to raise them both out of the water.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, seen the boats prior to the crash or have a recording device that overlooks the lake is asked to contact the Osoyoos RCMP at 250-495-7236.

(Original story: June 9 @ 2 p.m.) – Two people are missing after a boat crash in Osoyoos.

RCMP and the Underwater Recovery Team are searching for two occupants of one boat after a collision on Saturday night.

Both boats quickly sank after the crash on Osoyoos Lake between Hwy 3 and Swiws Provincial Park/Haynes Park at 7.15 p.m.

Three of the occupants of one boat were rescued and taken to hospital – two critical, the other stable – while the two occupants of the other boat remain unaccounted for.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
