The first annual Okanagan Wellness Summit ramped up Sunday morning at the Penticton Lakeside Resort.
For their inaugural year, the health and wellness-oriented retreat welcomed close to 200 ladies for a day of education, pampering, and rejuvenation.

Event organizer and creator, Natalie Grant, started the women-only event to be a haven for moms and hard working ladies to become more in touch with their bodies and minds.

To start off the fun and knowledge filled day, attendees participated in one large yoga class lead by Ariel Swans to set their goals and intentions for the day.

After lounging in savasana and breaking the ice through empowering group exercises, attendees settled in for the first key speaker of the day, Coach Andrew Raines of Vega, who spoke about nutritional fuel for active lifestyles.

Throughout the day the Wellness Summit stage hosted a number of speakers and instructors who spoke about all aspects of wellness, offering helpful tips and tricks to the audience.

Following each speaker, attendees got the opportunity to browse the handful of vendors tables, who showcased everything from handmade jewelry to acupuncture therapy.

Though it may have started as a room full of mostly strangers, by the end of the first hour relationships began to blossom as the event not only helped personal wellness to flourish but the social aspect as well.
