A 32-year-old Okanagan man has been charged with sex offences after he was accused of exposing himself to people in a public park.
Dexter Makortoff, from Oliver, has been charged with one count of exposing genitals to a person under 16 and one count of committing an indecent act in a public place.
The charges relate to an incident in Lion's Park in Oliver on Aug. 21.
Oliver Mounties were approached by a young person who said an apparently intoxicated man was exposing himself.
Within minutes, officers found Makortoff and arrested him for public intoxication and performing an indecent act.
“The Oliver RCMP commend the young person for immediately reporting the incident to police and providing a good description of the man,” Sgt Jason Bayda said.
“This allowed for a very quick arrest of what appears to be an isolated incident.”
