It's camping season, which means it's time to get out of the house and explore the beautiful outdoors, especially in the Okanagan.
From trekking in the bushes to relaxing on the beaches, we have made a list of different, local campgrounds to check out in the next couple weeks.
Bear Creek
Located right in Kelowna’s backyard, Bear Creek Provincial Park is a loved campground across British Columbia. With beautiful, sandy beaches situated on Okanagan Lake, a small store with delicious ice cream and hiking trails with jaw-dropping waterfalls, it is no wonder that Bear Creek has won the hearts of every type of camper.
Kettle River
What has an inner tube river float, a historic railway, and beautiful pink flowers that fill the fields of a large, family-friendly campground? That’s right, Kettle River campground! With 114 accessible campsites, this park is perfect for a relax-full weekend getaway.
Beaver Lake
Whether you enjoy camping in a tent or staying in a log cabin, Beaver Lake Resort gives you the option for both. With a lake to cool you off and a petting zoo to see cute animals, Beaver Lake is a must visit Okanagan campground.
Postill Lake
Between campgrounds and cottages, Postill Lake is known for its ideal fishing conditions and family fun activities. If you’re looking for more of an adventure, there are some off road camping spots near the area as well.Mabel Lake
Up a little bit past Lumby, tucked into the mountain side lays Mabel Lake. This serene site offers tons of activities from fishing to sunbathing and everything in between.
Fintry
Another campground in close proximity to Kelowna is Fintry Provincial Park. The park is located on a historic site allowing for both kids and adults to enjoy the rich history, as well as play at the beach and hike to a local waterfall.
sẁiẁs Provincial Park (Haynes Point)
Another local camp site is sẁiẁs Provincial Park, also known as Haynes Point, in Osoyoos. With canoeing, cycling, and fishing, this campground is perfect for a hot summer day.
Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park
With just under an hour to get to the campsite along the pristine, bright blue waters of Kalamalka Lake, it is no doubt that this Provincial Park makes our list.
